New Years Resolutions

I made my list of New Years Resolutions today. I often make them and never reach them. Why? Because there are strategies to making New Years Resolutions. These are my tips for you:

- Be Specific. If you want to lose weight, say you want to lose 30 pounds, and set a specific plan. The more specific it will be, the easier it will be to follow.

- Make them Attainable. If you want to earn a 3.9 GPA, but you have been earning a 3.4, set a smaller goal. I am not saying that you can't get a 3.9 GPA, but it may not be attainable. Set smaller goals that you can reach that lead up to a bigger goal. For example, one worthy goal would be to reach a 3.6 or 3.7 GPA, and then to reach a 3.9,.

-Don't Write too many goals. This is my problem. I want to do a lot, so I write a long list. Make a reasonable amount, and focus on one goal at a time. Once you reach one goal, then you can move on to another.

-Make a reward system. If you trying to lose weight, try not to make it junk food! Find a reward that will always motivate you.

-Have a Strong Support System. Let your friends, neighbors, family know your goals so they can motivate you and help you reach your resolutions.

-Don't have the mindset of giving up if you can't reach it. I know many people who make goals and then they can't reach it so they completely give up. Even if you can reach your goal halfway, then you are improving!
