Everyday is a new day
I was in a really good mood today and I have no idea why. Maybe it is because I am graduating in April or had Zumba today after a long break from not having Zumba. Like I said, Zumba is my favorite form of exercise. I just woke up thinking "today will be a good day". I woke up late, put on my exercise clothes and walked to Zumba in 14 degree weather. It was warm to me. Today we had a "heat wave" meaning it went up to 20 from being 0 degrees. I found it a miracle in the increase of tempature. It was a nice surprise not having to wear 50,000 layers.
Anyways, I was walking across campus and there were lots of gloomy faces. I wanted to walk up to them and smile and say "It will be a good day". I should just go sing "don't you fret...even though alabama won, there is still hope for you" (The college bowl). People would look at me weird if I did that, but I wanted to tell people that life is good today. Everyday is a new day with new people to meet, new concepts to learn, more food to eat, more hours to serve, and more opportunities to simply laugh. I know that I am a optimist. I feel as though I have always been somewhat of a optimist. Pessimist simply say it is part of their nature, but I think you can learn to think that "everyday is a new day". Being optimistic has so many physical and mental healthy consequences. I could cite thousands of articles about how your attitude towards events and looking at the glass half full or half empty impacts your longevity. I just want others to be happy and see good things in situations. Just like today, it was cold but at least it was warming up!
I just encourage all of you to look at each day in a different light. I know when it gets to the middle of the week, I am simply looking forward to the weekend. I just want those days to pass and skip to friday. What if we made every day count by looking it as a "new start"? If we messed up, it is another day to fix our mistakes. If we didn't accomplish everything we wanted to, we have another 24 hours to redeem ourselves. Let's look at each day differently.
