Let it Snow

Tonight, I went to Salt Lake to look at the Temple Square lights with one of my good friends. First of all, we got hot chocolate at this amazing bakery. This hot chocolate was better than Starbucks hot chocolate which is saying a lot. I do love that hot chocolate. We walked over to Temple Square when everyone was leaving from the musical program which meant that it wasn't as crowded. It started snowing. It was magical. The only part that wasn't magical is the fact that my feet were soaking wet after but it was magical to watch snow fall and be on temple square. People from Utah probably don't find it magical, but someone from California finds snow on holy temple grounds amazing. I saw a couple of people that I knew there. I saw someone from my home ward visiting Utah for the weekend, and some friends from my ward, and then a guy who dated my roommate. My favorite view of the night was the reflection pool in front of the temple, where they had candles light with Joseph and Mary in the middle. It was really beautiful because you could see the temple in the water with the candles light AND the snow falling. It reminded of hope, faith and love. It reminded of the true reason for Christmas.

One of my favorite moments of the night was when I stuck out my tongue and caught lots of snowflakes. I always find this enjoyable when I am in snow. I feel this "childhood happiness" as I imagine myself spinning around and feeling this childhood hope that Santa Claus will come and bring me all of my christmas gifts. These hope dies once you become a adult, but catching snowflakes on my tongue brings it back to my memory.

I learned that snow is scary to drive in when you can't see anything.

In my time in Utah, I have learned to enjoy Temple Square and all the wonderful things in Salt Lake, and lastly the beauty and magical powers that snow has. It makes walking difficult. It makes driving scary. But it does make me happy to find snow out the window.

Whenever I see it, I want to open my window and sing "Let it snow, Let it snow" and offer free hugs for everyone..maybe not the last part. But I find myself have more charity when there is snow around. I hope there is snow in heaven. And I hope there is christmas music. Nothing makes your day like singing proudly, "It's the most wonderful time of the year" by Andy Williams. Yep, life is good here in Provo.
