The best decision of my life.

I just wanted to write about my decision to go on a mission. It was completely out of the blue. It came out of nowhere. I decided after one sunday. I talked to my bishop that day and started my mission papers later that night. I talked to my Bishop without talking to my parents. I decided after telling people I wasn't going to go. It was a crazy decision.

Yet, this has been the best decision of my life. It has changed my life forever. I have developed a stronger testimony and focus on the gospel and I know that I was assigned to ARGENTINA for a specific reason. The more I learn about Buenos Aires, the more I know that there is a purpose why I am supposed to be there, The more I learn about Argentina, the move I fall in love the Buenos Aires.

Let me tell you about Buenos Aires. It looks incredible. I don't know everything but I will tell you about why I love it so far.
1. It is the "birthplace" of the tango. If you know love me, I love dancing. I won't be dancing the tango as Hermana Jensen. It is too sensual but the dance is awesome.
2. The city is full of culture, art, diversity, music and architecture. I want a adventure and this is a adventure. I said that when I graduated, I wanted to go live in another country and go on a advenutre. Teaching the gospel in Argentina will be a adventure.
3. I love the spanish language. I always loved it but I never had the time to deeply study it. This will give me the opportunity to learn it.
4. I love the culture of the Hispanic culture. I will be immersed in the culture and become a part of it. This is a dream come true. Literally. I have always wanted to live in a Hispanic country.
5. The Argentinian food looks amazing. We are not allowed to drink mate but they have delicious food. I can't wait to have authentic asado.
6. I can't wait to serve the people of Argentina and get to know about their lives. I want to share my happiness with them. And the reason why I am happy is because of the gospel. I want them to be happy from having the gospel in their life as well.
7. I am going to be serving in the campo. From what I have read in my blog, the people are friendly, warm, family focused and generous. Americans are sometimes like this, but I am excited to meet a culture that values these personality traits.
8. It's going to be a difficulty not to have air conditioning in the humidity. There are going to be lots of challenges on the mission, but I know that the people are going to teach me so much.
9. I want to be part of God's army and bring the world his truth. Serving in Argentina will allow me to share my testimony everyday.
10. As I learn each day, I will learn more reasons why I was assigned to Argentina. I think it comes down to this: The people need me and I need them. The Lord needs me to bring the people of Argentina the truth. I can't wait for the time that I can be set apart as a sister missionary, specifically as a hermana.
