The Magic of Disney

I have wondered these last three months why Disney is so magical. Because even though working Quick Service may not be the best, the park is magical. These are my final conclusions! I was waiting for a friend by the monorail main entrance to the park. I like to people watch in general, but I was just watching people's excitement and joy as they walked through the main gates.

The magic of Disney comes from the families. The love that a mom has to make her daughter happy makes DisneyWorld a happy place. It is full of families that love each other for the most part. There was this cute family with the daughter in her princess dress holding the hand of her mom and dad. They were talking about meeting the princesses and how they loved their own princess very much. It was precious. The sacrifice that families go through to see their child gleam with joy on Dumbo. The characters come alive and bring children's dreams real. They watch the movies at home and dream about meeting Cinderella and Prince Charming. They come here and meet them, get a picture and signature, and huge them tightly. Have you ever seen a cute little princess not let go of a character? The character tries to break away and leave but they hold tighter. The magic comes from the dreams of little children. I know this may sound very "disney". But children's dreams are powerful. They constantly change. They want to be a mermaid, doctor, teacher, singer, ice skater. It can change from day to day, hour to hour, second to second. Although it is constantly changing, there is one thing that is important. It is always there. The children always have a dream, wish, undying hope. They live in this fantasy world that their dreams will come true. They have the biggest hearts. They are pure, kind, and innocent.

I was watching Philharmagic at Magic Kingdom. At the end, Donald Duck flies off the stage and lands somewhere across the stage. This little boy asked Donald Duck if he was okay after he fell. It was adorable. He was sincere about caring for Donald Duck's health and happiness. The kids can get annoying when they are in strollers and take up the walkways in Disneyworld. But in the end, their imagination and hope is what keeps the magic alive. When people grow up, they lose this undying hope and innocence. They gain a realistic life of honesty and know that life isn't fair. They may still have the dreams that motivate them. Yet, children live in dreams. That is what I have realized over the last couple of months. I have learned about dreams.
