Making Connections
I realized the importance of making connections today when I was in Advanced Writing. We were reading a essay and just reading the history of the writer before the essay. We made connections between the title, some past novels, and the writer's history. The connections helped us understand the outline and theme of the essay.
This was a simple act of just getting the feel of a essay. But a important process of learning is made through making connections between two items, two people. Your brain will make connections all the time. Introducing two people, reading a textbook and remembering a fact that relates to your textbook, and putting two and two together! All of these are examples of making connections. Life is about making connections. Facebook is a major source of making connections. We make connections by adding friends, posting on someone's wall, wishing someone a happy birthday, poking someone and posting you are in a facebook official relationship! The more connections we have in our brain and social life, the smarter and happier we will become!
