One thing I have learned here is I really don't remember conversations with my co-workers and guests here. I remember the way people make me feel. Think about the first conversation with one of your closest friends or loved ones. I don't remember conversations that I have with every person I have made contact with my life. I do remember how each person made me feel. What drives you to be with them? Yes, it could because they are rich, beautiful, intelligent. But most likely, it is because you like the way they make you feel! You want to be with people who make you feel good. How bad does it feel when a friend brings you down? It sucks. So when doing guest service related jobs or just when dealing with people; remember this concept!


One example I can think of this is when I was working on the counter last week. I helped carry out a tray to someone's table after talking to some guests about their stay. They won't remember what I told them about when the best time to go on a ride in the park one day later. But If I was friendly and welcoming, she will remember the fact that I was inviting and warm. You can apply this concept to Quick Service Food and Beverage at DisneyWorld, your workplace, education, family, love life, and friendships. Once you learn this concept. apply it and try to make others feel good when they are around you. That is the greatest way to increase your own happiness by making others happy!
