Life in Elk Grove isn't that bad.

I have had this negative attitude all break that Elk Grove is the worst place to be right now. I have learned several things about your perspective and life this break. First of all having a job would be nice. I didn't work this break and I wanted to earn money and be productive with my time. Having no plans all day isn't too much fun, but working and then coming home is pretty relaxing. Unproductivity is the worst feeling you can ever have. I loved not having responsibility because I had my freedom with my time. I started wasting my time with netflix, reading, playing the piano, running, sleeping and eating. I wanted something where I could hold responsibility in this break though.

Second, you make what you want out of your life. If I had to stay in Elk Grove for the Fall, it wouldn't be that bad. I have friends and I could make new friends. I went to the fireside last night and there were some cute guys. If I was staying here, I would actually attempt to start something. There is things to do here! I could train for a half marathon at the Elk Grove Park with my friends, go to Institute, the Ward Activity each week and do things with new and old friends. So this is my final conclusion. I am apologizing to Elk Grove right now.

Dear Elk Grove,
I am sorry for thinking that you are a horrible place. There are options for me here if I wanted to stay here. I mean, rexburg is tiny too but the college life makes it exciting. Maybe someday I will come back and make a life here that is more permanent. That is not my plan, but life here isn't horrible like I thought it was. Compared to DisneyWorld in Florida, Florida wins that one!

Since I am not staying here, I am excited to go back to Rexburg :) I love that place. It will always hold a special place in my heart, yet I grew up here so I will always appreciate you.

Love,
Kristen

p.s. Don't fall in EG Park water. I have already had the experience when I was little. I don't specifically remember it but It is an unnecessary experience you can live without. And if you give food to the ducks, they will chase you and follow you around the park. Think twice before feeding bread to the ducks.

  1. Dear Kristen,
As a modern city, I accept your apology. Elk Grove is like many other cities, it is what you make it. Rarely do cities entertain, it is usually your friend circle. I hope you have enjoyed the Strauss Festival, the Pleasant Grove football game, running in EG park, just to name a few local events. If you were staying here longer, yes, you would develop more friendship and then Elk Grove would be the happiest place on earth.
    Sincerely,
    Elk Grove
