Is it possible to be too happy?
I just thought of this question today. My visiting teachers came over today and one of them has been really happy and been annoying her roommate lately. Are happy people annoying? Why? I understand if someone is jumping up and down and over the top, then it may be annoying. What if someone was simply just happy because they love life?
This is a onion video making fun of depressants. It is funny, when is setting your single friends up on blind dates a bad thing? Also, when is christmas caroling a bad thing ( if done in December)?
I don't understand why people don't want to be with happy people. Well I do...misery loves company. If someone is happy and you are persistently depressed, that might be annoying. But being happy and cheerful is a good thing. We are commanded to be happy. We have the gospel to make us happy. We have friends and family members to make us happy. I don't think we can be happy 100% of the time because there are times of trouble, sadness and doubt. But if someone is happy most of the time, that is a good thing.
I have been told that I am a happy person. Although I blog about my more difficult days, overall I feel like I am a happy person. Little things in my life may bother me, but I tend to enjoy my days. I have noticed that some people don't like hanging out with me because I am not complaining about others or life. What if I simply want to enjoy the moment? There is nothing wrong with that.
I understand why fake happiness can be annoying. If someone is fake, then of course you wouldn't want to hang out with them. I understand why people happy and bragging about how awesome their life is can be annoying.
Is there anything annoying about being genuinely happy, while still being concerned for others?
